Museum Heiden - discover the heyday of spa tourism
The Heiden Museum is dedicated to the fascinating international spa tourism of the 19th and early 20th centuries. The steep rise of Heiden as an air and whey spa town began with the reconstruction of the village after the fire of 1838 and ended abruptly with the First World War. This glorious era is impressively documented with historical artefacts and rare postcards. The museum also presents zoological, ethnological and mineralogical collections from this golden era. In the studio, visitors can discover the life and work of the famous Nebelspalter editor Carl Böckli ("Bö"). Changing special exhibitions delve deeper into the history and cultural heritage of the region.
The Heiden Museum can be reached in about 2 minutes on foot (160 metres).
