Sustainability is a matter close to our hearts at Hotel Heiden. Consciously lived and consistently implemented. We create an environmentally friendly and resource-saving stay for you without you having to compromise on comfort and enjoyment.
- Our solar system produces around 15% of our in-house electricity requirements. We use sustainable district heatingfrom wood chips and industrial waste heat from Sefar AG in Heiden.
- Our storage and basement rooms and all corridors are equipped with motion detectors.
- Energy-saving LED lighting is used throughout the hotel.
- There is a charging station for electric cars in front of our hotel.
- We have strict waste management with consistent separation.
- We reduce PET consistently: every employee uses a refillable drinking bottle.
- We rely on ozone technology instead of chemicals in dishwashers. Our cosmetics come from the B Corporationcertified brand Comfort Zone and the Swiss natural cosmeticsLedibelle from Appenzell.
- Refillable dispensers with Ledibelle natural cosmetics are available in all rooms.
- With increasing digitalisation, we are continuously reducing our paper consumption.
- We work closely with local producers.
- We mainly cook with regional and seasonal products and ingredients.
- We serve no orange juice, because we grow apples and grapes.
- A wide range of local spirits awaits you in our bar.
- We actively draw our guests' attention to the fact that we will only change their towels on request .
- Our guests have the option of waiving the daily room cleaning by hanging the bag provided on the outside of their room door on the day they do not wish to have it cleaned.
- We encourage our guests to travel by public transport by actively communicating and offering the OSKAR guest card (even on arrival).
- Biodiversity is promoted through projects on our roof areas (restaurant and whirlpool). On our garden terrace we only have native plants.
