Abbey Library of St. Gall (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

The Abbey Library of St. Gall with its famous Baroque Hall is one of the oldest libraries in the world. It has one of the most important collections of manuscripts in Europe, especially for the Carolingian and Ottonian periods from the 8th to 11th centuries. The collection is presented to visitors in temporary exhibitions. The library is at the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Abbey District of St. Gall.
